Thanks for posting the instructions for the homemade self watering planter. I'm going to get my husband to help me make one and give it a shot. I just started container gardening this year and I've been having problems knowing when to water my plants, so this should solve that problem neatly. Plus I like the low cost of making one vs buying one over the internet. Thanks!

By the way, have you ever gotten around to taking pictures to show how well they work? If you have, I'd love to see them.

We in Arizona have a different problem, it get HOT early. So lighter color box is nice. I have passed on your early designs to over 50 people. My first yeat 2007 was not good (got too hot, too early). This year 2008 is going good. Up to 6 boxes of tomatoes. Will add more nest year, & start earlier.

Thanks for the make-your-own container instructions! I'd
like to suggest using cardboard or a few layers of heavy
brown paper instead of the black plastic for a soil cover -
- unless you can get really truly biodegradable plastic
(which is expensive), it breaks down in a few seasons into
nasty, soil-and-water contaminating fragments. But
'planter's paper' works so well that you can buy it from ag
sites, and when it breaks down it goes into the compost
heap like leaves.

If this is useful, you may certainly use my name.

I'm glad I found your page! It ends up I loved playing many of the pc games you happened to work on when I was a kid. King's Quest, Pepper's Adventures in Time, the Island of Dr. Brain *grins*. They're amazing- I wish there were more like these made!

Lore, in these, her possibly last, breaths, gasps that she is still waiting for that tartlet. Did you check with that restaurant in Albany to see if they have any yet? She swears she will not set foot on another plane until she gets that tartlet!

My fingers are cramped from typing too much required information in these boxes. Plus I'm weak from hunger, having traded the Cinnabon for the Secret of Life plus two magic beans, which I ate, but they didn't really satiate me. Better order a lobster.

I found a Cinnebon on the sink in the washroom here at Ohare, so if you could just get me a frozen yogurt or a brandy or something, that would be good.

I just wanted you to know that I missed my plane again. Just wait in the parking lot till you hear from me, okay? Or come inside and pick me up a Cinnabon or something. I'm hungry. Do you have any food left over from Natalie's party?

Hi Josh,

I am surprised to stumble upon your site. As another old Huntington High alumni, I just thought I'd say hi. I used to love playing Jones in the Fast Lane. As well as many, many other Sierra games.
